Madonna kicks off ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour in UK

Amid a four-act show at Cardiff’s packed Millennium Stadium, a video interlude carried images of destruction, global warming, Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, Zimbabwe’s authoritarian President Robert Mugabe – and U.S. Senator John McCain. Another sequence, shown later, pictured slain Beatle John Lennon, followed by climate activist Al Gore, Mahatma Gandhi and finally McCain’s Democratic rival Barack Obama.

That is totally awesome. This is going to piss off so many people. I love it!

Celebrating 25 Years Of “Everybody!!!”

It may seem like only yesterday but 25 years ago on April 24, 1982, Sire Records honcho Seymour Stein released a single called “EVERYBODY” on Warner Bros. Records by an unknown singer from Rochester, Michigan by the name of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone. To say the world would never be the same is an understatement. The song went on to become a huge dancefloor hit and was heard all over the radio in the Summer of 1982. That little girl from Michigan would go on to become one of the most famous entertainers and cultural icons in history – selling close to 200 million records and remaining a star of enormous magnitude and influence for the next 25 years. She’s just getting started. Long Live the Queen and Happy Anniversary to Madonna.

Tonight is all Madonna on MuchMoreMusic. I’m in ectasy.

I live for this shit. When I was 16 I forced my friends into watching a whole bunch of Madonna videos. I had about 2 hours of VHS video (it had extra shit from Entertainment Tonight and videos), Blonde Ambition (the HBO special), Immaculate Collection, Madonna on Arsenio Hall and Justify My Love (yes, it was 1990). It was awesome. Although I think my friends were bored after the first 5 minutes, but it was awesome. Now I would have to spend at least a weekend for all the Madonna stuff I have now.

I think I even dressed up as Madonna that day. My friends must have thought I was nuts.

I was… I still am. Madonna RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Madonna is being criticized for her demonstration of being crucified on a cross. The church is only saying something now? Her tour started in May. The Catholic church pulled this shit in 1990 on her Blonde Ambition tour. The more they bitch, they more people will go see it.
