2014 - Year end review
2014 has shaped up to be a pretty good year. It has had it's ups and downs.
My races mostly went well. My first race was a 10k which I hadn't done in 4 years. Got a nice shiny PR for that one. My next race was a sprint triathlon which I hadn't done since my first triathlon in 2012. I PR'd overall on that, but my swim wasn't as fast as my first time. I blame the early start in the season and my lack of OWS. My 3rd race was one of my 'A' races of the season. My 2nd half-Iron distance in Welland, ON. The swim still wasn't fast, but my bike time was superb. Less then 3hrs for 90km. Quite pleased with that. My other 2 triathlons were olympic triathlons in Toronto and Bracebridge. No PRs there but I did have a good time and lots of lessons learned. Unfortunately my last race wasn't so good. I ended up getting a DNF, but I learned a lot, will brush myself off and be back at it again.
On a personal level I ended a long term relationship and started a new one. The new boyfriend has been quite supportive through my races and some personal issues. I want to thank him for putting up with me.
I would also like to thank my mom for being my sherpa once again. A thanks also goes to my coach Rebecca Adamson for helping me get through the season. Lots of ups and downs this year and she has helped me get through it all. I have greatly improved over the last 2 years with her.
Looking forward to 2015.
